Frequently Asked Questions about wedding photography
Since I have 1001 question about every-single-thing I can presume you also have some questions for me and therefore I created small FAQ section to help you navigate through wedding photography. HOW CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING?
I work on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your wedding date, I require a retainer fee and a signed agreement (this protects both you as the client, and me as the photographer. It also outlines everything and helps you to understand exactly what to expect).
WE DON’T FEEL QUITE COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA…
Don’t worry, neither do I. That’s where communication comes in. You need to be able to say what you hope for in the photos and I will exchange ideas with you. I will sometimes “direct” you to lean this way or that or to “hold it…that’s exactly it…”.It’s my job to help you relax, express who you really are, have fun with the camera, and actually enjoy the photo session. Even If that means telling you dirty jokes 🙂
WHY IS THERE A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT? WHAT IF MY WEDDING DATE CHANGES?
The deposit is 30% of the total cost of your package. This allows me to reserve the date for you. I do not shoot more than one wedding a day, so by holding a deposit, it reserves me for your day, which means I turn down any other wedding inquiries for the same day. If your wedding is for some reason cancelled, the deposit is not refundable simply because I have saved that date for you. If your date changes, I will do my best to work with you; if I’m already booked for that day, I will be happy to refer you to someone else; however your deposit is still not refundable.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I RESERVE FOR PHOTO SESSION ON THE DAY OF THE CEREMONY?
This is dependent on several factors (the size of your wedding party, the size of your family, how many locations you plan to shoot at, etc.). This is something we will discuss more when we sign the contract. As I get a better feel of the flow of your day, I will be able to help you come up with a schedule that will fit your needs perfectly. For example, we could arrange to photograph you (the bride and the groom) before the wedding ceremony starts and have all the time in the world for photo session. Or you can choose to organize your photo session the next day (if you are not travelling to your honeymoon right away).
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET FROM THE DAY OF THE WEDDING?
I will be shooting throughout the day so I cannot guarantee you a specific number of photographs you will receive but you will find that at the end of the ceremony, you have more than enough photos of your special day. The norm is between 700–900 images for a full day wedding.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF A SECOND SHOOTER? AND WHO IS YOUR SECOND SHOOTER?
A second shooter allows us to get more photos in a shorter amount of time. For example, while I’m shooting the bride as she gets ready, he photographs the groom. We will be able to reproduce lots of behind the scenes, candid photos as well as a second perspective on your day. My second shooter is my husband Tomislav.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND DO YOU SHOOT DESTINATION WEDDINGS?
I live in Zagreb, Croatia and I would love to photograph your destination wedding. If you are getting married outside Zagreb, send me an e-mail with all the necessary information and I will send you the pricing range and the travel fee (it varies upon destination and travel length).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?
You can expect to have fully edit high-resolution digital photos in 8-12 weeks.
WHAT IS AN ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION?
An engagement photo session is an extra photo shoot just for the bride and the groom before the wedding and it can be as fun and creative as you want it to be. You can decide to make a themed engagement photo shoot (for example, Mad Men series and the 1960s inspired photo shoot) or you can organize a romantic one (picnic in the woods) or an active one (rock climbing – just please, don’t make me rock climb with you).
WHY DO YOU INCLUDE AN ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION AND CAN I CHOOSE TO TAKE THAT OUT OF THE PACKAGE TO SAVE MONEY?
The engagement session is complementary, meaning that it is my gift to you! I have found that the engagement sessions are a great way for me to get to know you and interact with you before the actual day of your wedding. It’s also a great opportunity for you to see how I work so you will know even more what to expect on the day of your wedding!
IS THERE A WAY TO INCORPORATE OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS INTO OUR WEDDING?
Of course there is. You will receive a DVD of your engagement photos that you can use however you like! I’ve seen photos used for save the date cards, wedding invitations, guest book table or reception decorations, thank you cards, and even guest book albums.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Whatever you feel comfortable in and something you absolutely love. Bright colors, patterns, accessories make great photos. Girls, I highly recommend having your make up professionally done… and hair is always fun too!
WHO CHOOSES OUR ENGAGEMENT/WEDDING SESSION LOCATION?
You do and I suggest you pick a spot that is meaningful to you as a couple (where you had your first date, where he popped the question, an activity you both enjoy).
